The Steering committee is waiting for approval of an application to host a community Summer Festival to bring community together and to raise funds and awareness about the new Community centre project.
This event will be a blast - and there will be lots of volunteer positions available to make it a success. Our plan is that the festival will take place at the end of August 2008 (tentative date Aug. 23rd)

Management Board
The ROC - Resource Opportunities Centre, Community Development Association Serving the Prospect Road Area - has stepped forward to be the Management Board for the new facility.
This year the ROC actively recruited residents to join the organizations governing council. At the 2008 AGM in February the Board of directors increased in size from six to twelve members, with the ability to increase up to fifteen members
This is a very exciting turn of events for the organization and signifies a period of transition for the ROC, as the mission and mandate of the organization expands to include facility management duties.
The ROC Governing Council meets on average once a month and as we move forward the organization will have the support and expertise of HRM staff.
